Georgia River Network's Paddle Georgia Fall Float on the Flint is an annual 3-day, 48-mile journey on southwest Georgia's Flint River. The trip features daily paddle trips averaging 16 miles, three nights of on-river camping, nightly educational programs and entertainment, on-river tours, catered meals and campfire camaraderie. The trip is highlighted by lively shoals, beautiful blue hole springs and abundant wildlife.
Fall Float on the Flint 2019 will take place Oct. 5-7.
Georgia River Network employs multiple layers of safety measures to ensure a fun and safe journey. Safety boaters, lead and sweep boats, buddy boat system, river-to-land communications networks and launch site/take out site check ins are among the safety measures in place.
Gear should be brought for day trips suitable to weather and river conditions. There is no need to bring camp gear in boats as the camp gear will remain at a single campsite throughout the adventure.
Though Fall Float takes place in October, warmer weather usually persists in South Georgia into the first weekend in October. In most cases, the weather is suitable for swimming and other in-water activities!
