Ohatchee Creek in Alabama

Trip Overview

Many of us live life on a fast speed. Ohatchee Creek is the perfect s-l-o-w down! Peaceful, quiet, beautiful...

We spent about 3 1/2 hours taking our time, stopping often for pictures, taking a picnic lunch break, and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. There are very few signs of civilization - just lots of lovely sights and sounds.

We put in at Hart's Ferry Bait and Tackle, where there are a few picnic tables along the Coosa River, and a boat launch. Just downstream from the launch, Ohatchee Creek joins the Coosa, meandering westward.
