Trip Overview

We entered the water at the draw bridge at North Landing road, paddled up the intercoastal waterway to the bridge at Centerville Turnpike.

Minimal current, winds at 5 or less. Air temps high 50's, not sure water temp. Easy paddle: 5 miles up and 5 miles back.

Explored Boy Scout camp off Centerville Turnpike.
Discovered power boat in weeds, boat appears to be in good shape.
Found a dirt/manmade boat ramp approx. 1/2 way between bridges, would like to launch here next time if we can find it from road. (Mount Pleasent)

Fees:

no fees, although we did talk to the bridge tender prior to launch.

Directions:

Virginia Beach, Kempsville area. Travel east on Indian River road to a right on North Landing road. Launch site is at bridge over intercoastal waterway.
