Trip Overview

Finally got some paddling in. My schedule has let up a little so I decided to try to squeeze some paddling time in before it gets a little to cold to paddle. I arrived at my put in I was looking out onto the water and became a little hesitant. Never been out by my self and the water was quite choppy. The wind was coming out of the east across the bay and was kicking up some good chop maybe about 1 foot at the most. I decided to go ahead and put in any ways. I decided to try to stay as close to land.

I followed the shoreline south and found some back channels about may be 100 yds or more form the put in I decided to duck in there. Smart decision, I was able to putts around there for a while out of the wind, being out of the wind made a huge difference. I removed my paddle jacket since there was no wind to cool me down I started sweating. I leisurely paddled around and at times I just floated and let the breeze push me. Saw some Hawks and some sort of water bird. I tried to sneak up on him but he got away before I could get close enough to identify him.

I started my way back when I got back to the open waters of the bay I headed back into the wind. I have been putting off getting a spray skirt. After I pulled back in I stopped by the local out fitters and got me one.

Directions:

Follow Princess Anne to Muddy Creek. Make a left then follow to Horn Point RD, take that to water.
