Trip Overview

I just returned from the amazing island of Kauai, Hawaii. First I paddled a calm river to get my bearings and see if I was really game for a 17 mile open ocean kayak trip along the NaPali Coast. The day was nice, but a little calm and lazy for me. I met josh at NaPali Kayak and knew the adventure was on, He was a true adventurer who looked as if he'd spent the last 15 years in a kayak.

The next morning at 6:00 we met at the Kayak shop and jumped in the van for a ride toward the end of the road. We launched into a group of dolphins that seemed to follow us for a least a mile. Next we went into a huge sea-cave. By time I finished my second disposable camera I realized it must be lunch time. "Actually lunch is around that next corner" said Josh what felt like 10 times. When we finally arrived at the secluded lunch stop and had a huge lunch we all felt revived and ready to play again. The beach at the end was amazing and I made note to return some day.

Now a week later in Illinois I wonder how soon that some day may be, hopefully some day soon real soon.
