Mystic River - starting at Medford Condon Band Shell

To kayak on the Mystic River, we put in at the Medford Condon Band Shell on Rte 16. Easy parking and access to the river.

This was our first time out on a river and our second time out at all. It was a beautiful lazy Sunday morning and we paddled west to where the Alewife meets the Mystic. Saw ducks and a heron. Did a little side jaunt up some stream. Lots of lily pads.

It was a nice urban paddle and took about 90 minutes.

Accommodations:

Parking lot by the band shell. Plenty of parking.
