Bought a Sevylor Quikpak K1 inflatable kayak and took it out for the first time today. I have never been kayaking, and I'm terrified of the water. Getting on and off the kayak was the scariest part, as I REALLY did not want to go swimming. But this dock was right at water level on one corner, so it wasn't too hard to get onto my kayak. All the videos I watched were for beach and straight-out-of-water boarding, so I definitely want to watch one about dockside boarding before I go there again.
The area is very protected, with access to the bay once I get more confident. A very nice couple with paddle boards were at the end of the dock and shared some helpful tips. They mentioned a couple of places to stop and get a drink just down the way that you can paddle right up to if you get tired. ;)
I'm very glad I picked this spot to go out on my kayak for the first time. I'll be going back often!
