Le Sueur River in Minnesota

Trip Overview

County Road 8 (LeSeueur) to Sibley
The river has gone down quite a bit, however it was still high enough to paddle down. Got stuck in sandbars a few times, but overall a very scenic. At many times it's hard to tell you are in Southern MN.

The river was pretty slow, and extremely safe. Not as fast as the Minnesota or Blue Earth Rivers.

If you are going to do this, give yourself plenty of time. It took 3 hours from start to finish. Most of the time we were paddling and at the end, it was getting dark so there was a lot of paddling so it wasn't just a casual float.

Fees:

no, just a boat license

Directions:

Co. Rd. 8 landing straight off Monks leaving Mankato.
