Trip Overview

The lake is a great place to take an afternoon paddle or go fishing. There are never many people and the boat ramp has been re-done. You can see your vehicle from the water. There are some rocks along the shore but they removed the big ones by the boat ramp. There are two beaches on the other side and a 7-11 on Portion rd. You can tie up your kayak and walk across the street. The fishing is getting better due to the DEC stocking and lake cleaning programs that go on year round. The Long Island Bassmasters along with the Army National Guard helicopters just dropped 170 tree stump bundles in several locations around the lake to bring back the fishing. The lake is fairly shallow and the water is pretty calm most of the time. The best part is that if your on the other side and it starts to rain, you can paddle back to the ramp pretty quick. It is not that big of a lake.

Directions:

The boat ramp is on Victory Drive. That is off Rosevalle ave. It is easy to find on a Hagstrom.
