Trip Overview

I set out on a fishing backpacking trip to Lake Eleanor 5/10/12-5/13 expecting to catch these wild Trout, Rainbows & German Browns with 4 of my friends. Only to spend 3 days of no fish, no bites, Did I say no fish?

I spoke to my neighbor who is a retired Park Ranger that was in charge of this Lake for 10 years promising me of huge rainbows that bit in the afternoon and were just asking to be put into someones pan to eat. What a mistake.

The drive was dangerous to my 4 tires on my truck, the trek of hiking 4 miles with my friends tiring and the no fish, no action, was pointless.

If you are looking for some great pictures YES! Great place to go. If you are looking to fish this area , please kick yourself in the nuts and call it a day!
