Trip Overview

Easy stretch of river used by two liveries. Crooked River is based at John Brown Tannery Park and Burning River is based at Waterworks. Plenty of easy stretches but in August there are points that are very shallow and you may scrap bottom. Despite being close to development the River is sheltered and I saw herons, geese, ducks, and even a bald eagle. Bike path runs parallel to the river so I dropped my back off at Waterworks on the way to Kent and biked back to the car after completing the kayaking. Took about an hour and 50 minutes to kayak the stretch and half an hour to bike back to my car.

Gear Notes

10 foot kayak, bike dropped off for return

Conditions

As noted even though it rained the day before the river was low in spots
