Trip Overview

I looked into getting on the river with the least amount of effort. Using a wheelchair and needing special parking this place meets the bill. I would love to see more ramps and put ins like this.

Park opens at seven am. Many places to put in as this river has seven parks attach to it for your enjoyment. ADDA compliant complete with ramp to the water. This put in is called trout creek.

Going up river is a joy because of all the wildlife in and on the water from birds to fish and even many gators, the largest we saw was about 12 feet (no, we didn't get out and measure - but they are big).

Accommodations:

Drive going in to park is paved, people with ADDA signage have two parking spots that are hard paved. Also has side walk to the ramp for wheel chair use. Let me say that the ramp is steep - best to have help going down and up, canoe or kayak can be launch from the ramp.

Fees:

Fee is two dollars per car

Directions:

Off US 75 exit 266 go east approx. half a mile; park is on the left, just follow signs.
