Trip Overview

We put in at hwy 280 around 2pm. Although we were worried about the late start we had talked to some people at the take out and we had been assured that it would be easy to do the run in about five hours. The USGS gauge was at 573 and rising with near 100% chance of rain for the remainder of the evening.

After looking at the gauge on the 280 bridge I was a little skeptical. It read about 1 1/2 ft. Despite our fears the trip went well. The water rose the entire trip and despite a lot of scraping around we did manage to make the run in exactly five hours.

I intend to do this one again. Maybe next time we will leave a little more time to enjoy the wonderful scenery and numerous class II shoals.
