Trip OverviewShort, approx 4-mile trip. Enjoyable afternoon workout or easy-floating day trip. Our trip started at Heritage Park (which provides free access to the river) and ended at Dravo Park (also free river access). It made for a great lunch date and private time as there weren't many other people out, despite it being a beautiful day for it. No significant hazards or wildlife to worry about, though we stayed in the boats mostly. The few people we passed on the river were fisherman and all seemed to be pleasant. Once you reach the bridge at Blue Rock Road, there are spots where the rapids shallow out depending on how high the river is - this is the only difficult portion to navigate. If you are a beginner, travel with another just to be safe. Intermediate and above will have no problem handling this trip.
