Trip Overview

Grand River from Eaton Rapids access point to McNamara Landing south of Holt

It was a beautiful quiet day on the river. The river was wide with very few obstructions. We never had to portage and the river was slow-moving, a great trip for beginners.

There were lots of turtles sunbathing on logs and on the banks. We also saw ducks, geese, and heron. There were only a few houses along the way. The large trees along the banks help to provide shade from the sun.

It took us about 3 1/2 hours leisurely paddling.
