Fish River in Alabama

Trip Overview

My two sons and I paddled our canoe from Bohemian Park on Co Rd 48, to the Honey Rd launch off Co Rd 9.

The trip was fairly easy with some log jams in portions of the river, but we were able to navigate around them. Only one time did we have to get out and drag the canoe over a sand bar. At one point we had to lay down in the canoe to get under a tree that fell across the river.

After the first 45 min the trip became much easier. The whole trip took 3 hrs with only a few stops lasting a few minutes each.

Directions:

from I-10 drive south on Hwy 181. Turn left on Co Rd 48 (aka Fairhope Ave). Turn left into Bohemian Park.
To get to Honey Rd. from Bohemian park, turn left back onto 48, turn left on co rd 33, left on co rd 32, turn right on co rd 9, right on Honey Rd.
