Fallen Leaf Lake

Trip Overview

Gorgeous glacial mountain lake! This oval-shaped lake is approx 5 miles long. Lanching is at the marina just past Fallon Leaf Lake Store (simple foods and coffee, plus touristy things, and bathrooms) and parking. It is a harrowing ride to get there as the road is 1 car width. No RVs allowed. Authority will want to check your boat before launching. The office is at the marina. Launching is at the small beach or the boat ramp/marina. Water is flat, but the wind can pick up, whipping through the mountains, causing white-water caps. Staying close to shore is wise. At the north/north-west end of the lake, there are a few picnic tables where you can pull-out.

Safety Notes

Wind can pick-up causing swells. Drive along the lake is a single lane.
