Trip Overview

Fallen Leaf Lake is a large Alpine Lake surrounded by majestic pines and granite peaks. The weather is typical Sierra Nevada unpredictable, layers are a must. The water is clean and clear the wild life is limited and changes seasonally. The amenities in the small village at the Lake are great! The general store/post office/cafe supplied great food and gifts. The paddling was along a rocky shore with deep shrubs. Powerboats are allowed but after paddling on Tahoe the few we encountered were no problem.
