Trip Overview

The Escatawpa River is one of the most beautiful Rivers in Alabama or for that matter the USA. There are white sandy beaches on every curve of the River. The water is mostly shallow with a few deep holes. One study of the river by the government deemed this to be one of the cleanest black water rivers in the US. We went overnight on a full moon and it was the most gorgeous nights of my life. Nothing could compare. We stopped on many sand bars to collect beautiful driftwood and looked for a place to set up camp, in which there were many. The spot we choose was perfect to see the moon and the eclipse. I would recommend this trip and this river to anyone.
