Trip Overview

Put in on the north side of the beach for an afterwork paddle. Water can be a bit choppy at times and there is a current pulling south. Today went across river to US side, paddled along shore up to the Roostertail...

Flocks of ducks, a couple loons, and some swans were seen in the first 30 minutes. Surprisingly few boats on the water (weekday), though a few jet skis.

From the Roostertail paddled north around a little building in the middle of the river, some interesting currents running along side of it. The along the shore behind the Detroit Yacht Club (got a closeup few of them dredging the entry point). before hitting the beach again.

All things said, paddling the Detroit River is very under-rated. Lots of opportunities around the island, under the bridge, etc.
