Trip Overview

Did 4 days combined on the Little Deschutes and Deschutes Rivers in Central Oregon. Solo, class 1. Started at Dorrance Mdw. Rd., just W of Lapine, OR. Finished at the last boatramp above Benham Falls. 46.8 miles total. Easy water; just good rivertime. Saw no one on the water over 4 days. Very good trip for people looking to work on their river camping technique/kit/set-up. Largely meandering, low-gradient, lots of willows and pines. Houses along the river in some places, wild in others. Only 1 tree required a portage.
