Dan River in North Carolina

Trip Overview

This was not just another lazy float down the Dan. The river peaked at 4 feet 8 inches and the river was a rocking. This is the best trip on the Dan River by far, the water has to be up though, halfway through the trip you hit the fun part the river narrows and large outcrops of boulders are everywhere. At water levels like today it turns into class III +. We made what is usually a 4 and a half hour float into an hour and a half blast. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone, when the water is up.
