Trip Overview
It was a beautiful day for Canoeing. We left our home around 8:00 am and were on the water by 9:30. The weather was about 68 degrees and the water was running clear and smooth. The first thing we saw about 5 minutes into the trip was a turkey fly overhead. We then saw many geese and ducks with hatchlings. The water was at a good level in the beginning, but was just a little shallow for a crew of two at about the halfway point. There were a couple of class 1 rapids. This river is very scenic with many high cliffs and rock ledges. Our trip was approximately 10 miles long. With a few small breaks for fishing and lunch, this was a four-hour trip. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone in the area.
