Trip Overview

For all you Miami Paddelers. I have found a secret boat ramp that was used back in the 30's. I am going to cut to the chase. This ramp is big enough to drop of a full size boat. It is located on Ponce de Leon next to US-1 under the Metrorail where Riviera Drive meets Ponce de Leon.

You will not be able to see it from the street. You will have to park across the street on street side parking. Next, walk towards the big patch of grass under the Metrorail where it looks like a canal runs under it. Long behold it then turn into the huge entrance down a slope to the waterway that leads out to the ocean. Great place to drop if you live near by and don't want to drive to the beach.

Please note this is a hidden gem and - knowing how things are in Miami - when people start abusing it, the county comes and closes it off. Please be mindful and don't cause too much attention when doing this or I guarantee we will loose access to this forgotten ramp.

Directions:

Rivera and Ponce de Leon
