Trip Overview

Great Landing Site at the Port de Plaisance de Contrecoeur, custom made for both SUP & Kayaks. First 500m channel offers only 3 knots side current in the main stream. Then, you're aldeady in the National Reserve canal, right in front of the church... Abundant wildlife, great spot for birds watchers ! At the end of this canal, near the main Seaway of the St-Lawrence River, you can either head left for a short 6 km round trip, with a strong current bringing you back to the launching point at the last 2.5 km strech... Or turn right through the entire Reserve, for a 12km day ride to enjoy. There's a secret tight'n narrow canal swirling arount through thick swamp vegetation that is amazing to discover. Contrecoeur's islands are a must see..!
