Trip Overview

I went with two new paddlers and put them in a canoe. They felt a little safer in the canoe than in Kayaks. We rented the canoes from Buckley's on M-20 between Remus and Mount Pleasant. The cost for transporting my kayak was $7.00 the Canoe rental depended on the length of the trip . We put in at School Bridge not much parking available there.

The Chippewa River was clear, the temp was high 40's to mid 50's. We went October 10, 2009. The river moved along nicely it took about 2 hours to do 8 miles we floated under several bridges and saw ducks, herons and turtles along the river. We floated past homes but saw no people we had the river to ourselves. The trees were turning color and that is what we wanted to see and we did.

It was a great day on the water. Very easy paddle.
