Trip Overview

This is my favorite place to paddle. There are many lakes naturally connected together from the glaciers. So start out in the main lake were the public beach is then choose from two canals. Once into the canals the world disappears. The other lakes are so peaceful and quite. There are some picnic sights you can stop at along the way. There are some shallow spots and stumps, but there is always a passable spot.

Accommodations:

There are some cabins to rent or the day or week. There is a public beach with full facilites.

Fees:

There is a $3.00 per car fee and a $5.00 per boat fee. Yearly passes for cars and boats are also available.

Directions:

On State Road 9 in northeast Indiana. About 4 miles south of Ablion and about 15 miles north of Columbia City.

Contact:

Indiana State Parks

Resources:

I recommend looking at the map at boat launch, because there are many lakes.
