Bull Shoals in Arkansas

Trip Overview

Bull Shoals AR was a major destination in the past. It is primed to again become a 'go to' place for water sports and hiking enthusiasts. The options for kayakers are many with the Buffalo River, Crooked Creek, the White River, Norfork River, Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake all nearby.
Bull Shoals has 3 camping areas ranging from full service at the White River State Park to primitive tent sites at Point Return and a combination offering of RV, camper and tenting at the newly reopened Dam Site Park. While many of the original resorts are in decline there are some very nice lodging options including homes listed on Airbnb & HomeAway.
The water in the area is crystal clear and clean! The scenery is outstanding! The crowds - well, there aren't any! You can paddle long stretches in near isolation.
