Trip Overview

Although the water level in the lake was very low, this turned out to be a pleasant paddle. We had the lake to ourselves so the paddle was very quiet.

This lake is deep in a canyon and is more like a river than a lake. It has many twists and turns that make the paddle interesting with very few straight sections. We spent two hours on the paddle and only paddled the southern section of the lake.

Launch point is midlake which means going in either direction from there. This canyon is so steep that launching from the boat ramp is the only viable option for paddling this lake.

This is an easy trip from Phoenix so definitely a lake worth keeping in your repertoire for paddling.
