Trip Overview

We put in @ the Rapidan dam. We have had some rain recently and the dam output was above 2300 cfs. There were class I rapids and rifles.

We stopped @ Devils Gulch and a small sandy spot for lunch. We looked @ Triple Falls from the kayaks but it was not running: We also gave the salute to Big Moe on the way by.

With the river up it was a fantastic paddle and a perfect day. It was 70's and full sun most of the paddle. Not much for wind that day on a beautiful river.

Accommodations:

There is a wonderful cafe called the "Dam Store" right there. Also porta-potty and small parking lot @ put in spot.

Fees:

No

Directions:

From highway 169 take 190th st./co. rd. 9 East. Before the river turn Left on Glory Ln.
