Trip Overview

Day trip from Glenfield put-in to Beaches Landing take-out.

Just over 11.5 miles took 3 hours in a steady moderate to slow current. Plenty of water for paddling, but river levels were moderately low.

Saw a few folks along the banks (there are a few houses and camps along the river, but mostly farmland and scrub forest) but no one on the river until we were within a half mile of takeout where we saw some fisherman.

An idyllic day, partly cloudy and in the high 70s - low 80s with an intermittent light breeze.

Safety Notes

Many, many pilings in river left over from what may have been a series of railroad tressels. 2 small sets of riffles, the second more significant than the first. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to mileage. Neither was any issue at the water level (lowish) that we paddled.

Gear Notes

I paddled my CLC Lightcraft Chesapeake 18 and my wife paddled her Eddyline Merlin XT (15ft) with great enjoyment!
