Trip Overview

Small, easily accessed bayou with unique juxtaposition of pine trees, then marsh, then Lake Pontchatrain. Takes about an hour to get to the lake. Nice marsh ponds if you take a cut to the right about 2/3 way down. Coming out into Lake Pontchatrain is rather dramatic. Lots of fish. Saw 2 eagle nests, assorted herons and other birds and one 5' alligator.
