Description
Location: Land Between the Lakes, Stewart County, Tennessee, Road 361 GPS: N 36 39’ 35.9” W 88 02’ 16.4” Directions to Access Point: Travel Highway 68/80 east from Murray, Kentucky; turn south on the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway; turn west onto Road 172, crossing into Tennessee; turn south on Road 206; turn north on Road 361. Amenities: Dispersed Camping – No facilities. Dispersed Camping Permit required. Parking: 2 unimproved spaces Restrictions: None Safety: Wear your life jacket. Know your skills and limits. Wind and weather can create dangerous conditions. Let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return. Plan to “Pack it in; pack it out!” West from Rushing Creek 0.8 miles west by the water trail to the Dilday Landing access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 30 minutes Trail Description: This short section of the trail leads you along the shoreline of Rushing Bay to the Dilday Landing access point. Wildlife Viewing: Cultural Features: Natural Features: Fishing Information: North from Rushing Creek 3.5 miles north by the water trail to Redd Hollow Campground access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 1 hour, 45 minutes Trail Description: The trail leads you out of Rushing Bay, along the shoreline of Kentucky Lake and into Redd Hollow to the Redd Hollow Campground access point. Wildlife Viewing: Cultural Features: Natural Features: Near Rushing Creek, paddlers will find some rocky bluffs that host unique and rare plant communities such as Kentucky’s only cactus, Prickly Pear. Hiking around the location, you may find some unique plant and animal communities. Fishing Information:Location & Directions
