Description
Car park near lock can go either direction into town centre ends at bridge or other direction hailingbury sawbridgeworth harlow and onto the River Lea. Short portage from the free car park to the launch point. Heading towards Sawbridgeworth, there is a drop down into the water, but I managed it as a relatively inexperienced paddler. About a 30 min paddle to the next lock, with steep banks to get out from. So I didn't try this time. Not many emergency exit routes along the way. But peaceful and many friendly walkers along the way.
