New Meadows River

Bath, US

Description

The Sawyer Park Boat Ramp is a well maintained, busy launch site with cement ramp and very small, rocky/muddy area to stage kayaks.

Beautiful tidal saltwater estuary with idyllic Maine scenes at every turn. Stopping places may include Indian Point, The Basin, Hamilton Audubon Sanctuary, Back Cove, and more There is plenty to explore and enjoy for an hour, a day, or several days. Follow along the shore for quiet paddling or carefully cross channels to get to the Audubon Sanctuary. Watch for eagles and sea birds everywhere.

Plenty of parking, but outhouse is closed during Covid-19 pandemic. Check out the gas station just before the launch site and buy some homemade cookies!
