There are 4 or 5 spots to park at this launch. This is a good place to start your exploration of South Ore Creek. The creek is just across Bauer Road from the parking and this section of the creek has adequate water almost year round. Small kayaks are the most suitable for the twist and turns you will encounter. If you are coming down from a launch from Wyndam Lane you cannot miss this takeout. There is a Murray Lake Campground sign on the creek side of Bauer Road. If you are launching here you can either paddle upstream and then float back to your vehicle or paddle down to the Hamburg Road bridge. This is a lovely stretch of South Ore Creek and is maintained by Kayak Michigan Creeks in an ecologically sound way. The only downside in paddling here is the road noise from Bauer Road. We recommend that you avoid the 4 - 6 PM time frame to lessen this distraction. The water is very clear and for almost all of the paddle less than waist deep. Currently we recommend ending your trip at the Hamburg bridge as the section down to Ore Lake has not been paddled or maintained for several years (as far as we know). We will change our advise as we get out later this year to see and work.
