Blackfish Sound, where Northern resident Orcas frequently congregate during the summer months (mid-July - September) and Humpback whales are commonly seen as well, is a paddler's playground. In addition to marine mammals, the area is a great place to spot bald eagles and other birds, and provides close proximity to the southern boundary of the Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park.
