Minnetonka Ice Arena / City Hall

Minnehaha Creek, Minnetonka

Description

Enter at the 1.75 mile point of Minnehaha Creek watershed district. Sand shore for easy access to the creek. The portage from the parking lot to the creek is about 100 yards. There is a walking trail and bridge that crosses over the creek. From this point Minnehaha Creek is an easy upstream paddle to Gray's Bay Damn Park (start of the creek) which you can portage into Lake Minnetonka via Gray's Bay, 30 yard portage. A nice alternative to enter the creek if Gray's Bay Damn Parking is full. Should you choose to go downstream once you pass under HWY 494 you will not be able to paddle upstream due to small rapids and increased water flow as Minnehaha narrows significantly under 494.
