Lake Washington

Location Overview

How about booking an AIRBNB on Lake Washington and kayaking to/from a little log cabin near Bellevue. The cabin for two also has a dock and a kayak rack. Here is more info on how to book the little log cabin. The little log cabin sits on Meydenbauer Bay, about 1 mile from Bellevue. You can look out and almost visualize back to 1919-1942 when steam-powered steel-hulled whaling vessels, armed with harpoon cannons to catch blue, sperm and humpback whales, wintered in Meydenbauer Bay. (The fresh water helped maintain the hulls by killing marine growth which grew on the hulls while in ocean water.) About 250 whales were brought in each season. Maybe the cabin can provide a kayaker just what he or she needs after a long day of kayaking to unplug, and have some peace and quiet. Who knows.
