Description
Paddlers dock with easy access. Picnic tables and benches to sit or put your gear. Small dirt parking lot but plenty of parking and is close to the put in. There isn't a charge to use the facility. There is a bathroom with a changing area across the road at the end of the parking lot. There isn't running water, you may want to bring water to wash the saltwater off your gear.
You can paddle the sloughs where it is calm, interesting, and out of the wind, good for beginners enjoyable for others. More advanced paddlers can paddle out to the bay. You can go to china beach for a nice 5 mile (10 miles round trip). The winds can be high in the bay, reasonable down winding if you can get upwind. The current wasn't too bad, could be a problem for a beginner, if so check the tide.
There is a restaurant at the golf course, prices ranged 18-30 for entre. The food is good.
