Description
Location: Land Between the Lakes, Trigg County, Kentucky, Road 343 GPS: N 36 44’ 24.5” W 88 05’ 19.8” Directions to Access Point: Travel Highway 68/80 east from Murray; turn south on the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway; turn west onto Road 168; turn right on Road 343. Amenities: Dispersed Camping – No facilities. Dispersed Camping Permit required. Parking: 1 unimproved space Restrictions: Road 343 is accessible by 4 wheel drive, high clearance vehicles only. Safety: Wear your life jacket. Know your skills and limits. Wind and weather can create dangerous conditions. Let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return. Plan to “Pack it in; pack it out!” South from Mays Hollow: 2.1 miles south by the water trail to Colson Hollow Group Camp access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 1 hour Trail Description: The trail south leads you out of Turkey Bay, along the shoreline of Kentucky Lake and then to the Colson Hollow Group Camp access point. Wildlife Viewing: Cultural Features: Natural Features: Fishing Information: North from Mays Hollow: 0.7 miles north by the water trail to Turkey Bay OHV Area access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 30 minutes Trail Description: This short section of trail leads you to the head of Turkey Bay and then to the Turkey Bay OHV Area access point.
