Description

My favorite place to launch my kayak in Benicia. The 9th Street Park may have a boat ramp, but it's a fairly busy spot. A short drive away is the Matthew Turner Park where you can put in your kayak or paddleboard. There is a slope down to the water near the portable toilet (porta potty). Picnic tables. Plenty of parking. No fees. I have an inflatable kayak and I inflate right on the lawn near the slope to the water. Mostly I paddle about without a destination, but for a challenge I've paddled to the 1st street pier and also to Dillon Point, which may be a launch point also.
