- Curry Park Boat Launch
Description
This tranquil waterway is a paddler’s dream. A low traffic creek with few – if any – boats, these waters are undisturbed and full of nature. Launch your kayak or canoe from Curry Park; this park has both a dock and a boat launch, if you plan on bringing a larger boat. This park has parking, picnic tables, trails, greenspace, and – if the season permits – a skating rink on the creek itself. Paddle your way upstream to the south to find Downtown Kemptville, where you can dock at Rotary Park near the bridge. You can wander into the town for lunch, visit the library for some nice air conditioning, or visit one of the many stores in the area. Recommendations to visit include Salamanders pub, Hyde Smokehouse, the library (as mentioned), the Book Market, and more. Alternatively, you can paddle downstream to the north to find the Rideau River, where you can then take a left and paddle upstream to the west. On the Rideau River, you will find Lock 17 of the Rideau Canal at Burritts Rapids, as well as the oldest community on the river located there.
