Description
This is a great state maintained access to the Huron River right off Wixom Road. The entry is well marked, and you can drive very close to the river so kayak launching is easy at a sandy beach. Parking is free and ample. It's a reasonable paddle to the Proud Lake Dam, which is easily portaged without stairs if one wishes to continue on to explore Proud Lake and beyond. The location of the dam is beautiful too, with swimming, and a nice picnic area. This dam area also has a restroom.
