Hunt Fork Lake

Small Lake

Location Overview

The typical put-in point for the John River is Huntfork Lake, as the upper 40 miles can have low water and rocks which requires lining. However, during high water the upper section is fast with rapids and may make for an exciting packrafting trip. The portage over to the John River from Huntfork Lake is approximately 1/8-mile.
