Description
Der teils zu Sachsen, teils zu Thüringen gehörige Haselbacher See südwestlich von Regis- Breitingen und Haselbach gehört zum Leipziger Neuseeland. Er ist aus einem ehemaligen Braunkohletagebauloch entstanden. Im Jahre 1993 wurde der Tagebau durchflutet. Heute wird der See als Freizeiterholungsgebiet genutzt, das touristisch noch weiter erschlossen werden soll. So sind zum Beispiel verschiedene Rad- und Wanderwege um den See in Planung. Der See ist mit dem PKW gut zu erreichen. In das Netz des öffentlichen Personenverkehrs ist er zur Zeit noch nicht eingebunden.
