Carseland Wyndham Provincial Park

Bow River

Description

Bow River slow enough to paddle upstream. Fish if you are inclined. Boat ramp for motorboats to launch from (or kayak)is also bathroom location(outhouse). Better place to launch is at the bottom of the hill when you first hit the river. Calmer current and access to side channels/canals. Great place to spend a few hours in the evening, only 45 mins from Calgary. Prov park dayuse area. No picnic tables or fire pits but lots of places to hang out/relax by the river. Camping is available on other side of Weir at Carse/Wyndham Prov. Park. Have to drive about 5mins farther down the highway for camping part of park. We saw lots of birds (pelicans ducks etc) also beavers and possibly bigfoot.
