From the parking lot, carry your boat .2 miles down the Blue Jay Point Trail. Use the most excellent restrooms before you head down the trail. You can launch in little coves on either side of the point. There’s an osprey nest right on the tip! From the end of the trail, look across to the little island (a great hammock spot) and you’ll see the NC State Parks HQ building. Be on the lookout for power boats!
