Belvoir Place

Union Bay - Seattle, US

Description

Belvoir Place is a small neighborhood park and a great place to launch SUPs or kayaks from a very small dock (but it works!).

From Belvoir Place, paddling west takes you to the Union Bay Natural Area where many birds and turtles can be spotted. Paddling past the Union Bay Natural Area takes you to the UW and the UW Waterfront Activities Center (canoe and kayak ("funyak") rentals available).

The water here is almost always calm and power boat traffic generally stays clear of Union Bay. On a warm day, swimming in Union Bay is a great way to cool down.

If you live near Belvoir Place, this is a convenient spot for an evening paddle after work.
