Bear River Access

River

Description

This is public paddling access to the Bear River. There is no boat ramp, this access is just for paddlers. There are signs for the launch point off highway 182. The drive back in is a bit overgrown so bigger vehicles may have branches scraping their vehicle. There is not much room to leave a parked car there, so you may want someone to shuttle you. (There is River’s Edge Adventure Company who shuttled us.) It’s a beautiful river with lots of wildlife. There appears to be one designated campsite along the river. There was a downed tree not far into the trip that you will need to portage around (not the easiest, but is doable). This river will take you to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. It’s about 7.45 miles to the take out at Murray’s Landing. There is plenty of parking and a boat ramp at Murrays Landing.
